Understanding the Marble Slab
What Exactly is a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)?
The Franchise Disclosure Document, or FDD, is a legal document that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires franchisors to provide to franchise candidates. This document must be given 14 days prior to the sell of a franchise.
The FDD is packed full of useful information potential franchisees need to know about the Franchisor before they agree to buy. FDD's can range from 100 to 300+ pages in some cases. The FDD comes with 23 sections called "items" and we discuss each item in our comprehensive eBook titled "What's Inside the Franchise Disclosure Document".
